With the recent demise of actor Matthew Perry in mind, it is reported that concerns are being raised by some of his Friends co-stars over Matt LeBlanc who apparently is said to be distancing himself from the public eye. Based on an inside source, LeBlanc who is remembered for the childishness of portraying Joey Tribbiani in the famous sitcom, has gradually neared seclusion due to the fall of Perry since October 2023.
LeBlanc has endured pain, a deep pain of having to say bye to one of his friends. “Matt has always been very private but this has hit him terribly. He started pulling away…. he has been avoiding any social occasions outside, including other friends,” the source discloses. Risks are reportedly heightened for all the Friends cast including Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, and David Schwimmer for their leading Lady Doll, their co-star.
Perry and LeBlanc were not just colleagues and friends who happened to star in Friends together, it was more than that. “They had something beyond friendship,” the insider stated. “Matt was always the one in the background, but after Matthew’s death, it appears something snapped in Matt, and he became really isolated.”
Following Perry’s passing, it has been said that LeBlanc has turned down several offers of public speaking and prefers to be left alone. The source added, “Everybody from the Friends family has been behind him and urging him to talk to people but it has been hard.”
The passing of Perry, which was devastating to Hollywood and Friends viewers across the world, has proved to be reasonably painful for the close knit cast. Given that they are in essence grieving for a fellow cast member as well, theophanous’s apparent disappearance has raised some alarm.
For the weeks that followed the saddening news, Perry’s co-stars have been taking time one after another to think about their good times. Meanwhile the concern for LeBlanc does not seem to abate, with great expectations that he will regain enough composure to reconnect with his key players so that they go through this challenging period together.
