Halle Berry will ‘do anything’ for her kids, but if you are planning to watch actress Halle Berry as a loving mother in her new movie Never Let Go, you are in for a surprise. Berry shared a story on how she was portraying a ‘darker’ matriarch in the psychological thriller and delving into issues of generational trauma before going on to give a brief on her upcoming film with Angelina Jolie.
In the movie ‘Never Let Go,’ Berry attempts to save her twin sons from the bad world that has engulfed the whole universe. They live in a cabin in the woods and are always chained together anytime they go out in the open. ”When I read the final script, I was obsessed with it for weeks,” Berry said of the horror flick’s melee post-apocalyptic plot set in motion when one of her sons begins doubting that the venom is real – or just a figment of mother’s imagination- which gradually erodes the boys’ protecting barrier.
Berry is the mother of two kids: Gabriel Aubry, who consists of Nahla Ariela Aubry, 16 years, and Maceo-Robert Martinez, 10 years to her ex-spouse Olivier Martinez. On this matter, the actress stated that she was close to the difficult character in some way since she is a ‘’ mother with children. ‘’ “With the darkness of the character and the fluency with which the mother has murdered her children. I think every mother says that, but this is a different kind of mother. This is a darker version of a mother. This woman is a mother who has unresolved trauma. This mother is having difficulty resolving whether she is not mentally well or if this evil exists.
Berry has played a mom before in various films but said this time felt “different” as it’s a “darker version than I’ve ever played before.”
