In a major development, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has formally closed the sexual assault case against the rapper Clifford ‘T.I.’ Harris and Tameka ‘Tiny’ Harris. The case, which was related to the accusations leveled against the aforementioned couple, was initiated 2 years ago. The statement from the LAPD comes after the reason for Virginia state’s prosecution had arisen that the statute of limitations with regard to the accusations had voided, and there was lack of evidence to be processed.
The story of this case started in early 2021 when several women alleged that T.I. and Tiny had drugged and raped them on several occasions between the years 2005 and 2010. The claims brought by the couple’s critics wore the public out once, which led to the LAPD and Las Vegas police commencing a real inquiry. Other claims implied that the couple forced women into sexual abuses by drugging them while others charged that the couple suppressed several women.
T.I. and Tiny have in all instances insisted that they are innocent and have never committed those acts. T.I. has taken to social media on a couple of occasions announcing that they are innocent. In this social clip which was uploaded in the first hours following the accusations on T.I., he said “What we’re not going to do is open up the door to my bedroom as you shouldn’t either”.
The dismissal of the case was welcomed by the couple’s attorney Shawn Holley, and Ms. Holley stated, “We are happy but not surprised that LAPD has decided to close the case against the Harrises. The Harrises have always claimed that they are innocent.”
The controversy garnered T.I. and Tiny even more negative press as the couple is dubbed as one of the controversial names in the entertainment business. T.I. is a Grammy-winning rapper while Tiny is a reality star and singer who have gained several television credits from their music and their VD1 series or T.I. and Tiny: The family hustle.
For now, they seem to have closed this chapter of their lives namely that of the Harrises in legal battles but the charges did stain their names. The two still pose to be innocent and there are no proceedings that are likely to take place anytime soon.
