This time, Michael Keaton has a name for you to read and say three times.

Michael Keaton, the popular actor from the 1988 movie Beetlejuice, recently told People that he intends to use his stage name followed by his birth name from now on.

In the Interview, the 72-year-old actor stated that he wishes to hyphenate his real name, Michael John Douglas, with his stage name and become Michael Keaton Douglas. Keaton states that he decided to change his name starting at the beginning of his career in the 1970s. This is because a rule in the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) states that one SAG member cannot use another SAG member’s professional name.

Keaton had to be disassociated from Michael Douglas, in case you have not met the famed actor from ‘Wall Street’ or Mike Douglas, the SAG-registered actor. Since the actor had to drop his real last name, the man replaced it with Keaton.

It is worth noting that the moniker Keaton adopted in the movies Batman and The Paper assumed a prestigious position as the successful comedian transformed into a film star. Now, in his bid to go backstage and become a director, the comedian Douglas could have loved to use the name ‘Michael Keaton Douglas’. However, he lost it as he embraced the ‘Knox Goes Away’ directorial set.

Due to SAG restrictions, we see that Keaton is not alone in having a stage name.
