Landing in Hollywood, Universal Pictures has snapped up the film adaptation rights of the 2022-released novel Reminders of Him by Colleen Hoover after the studios experienced a box office smash with the film adaptation of her book, ‘It Ends with Us.’
Currently, there are no directors or actors listed; however, the studio has booked the movie for the February 13, 2026, release, per The Hollywood Reporter. Basically, the setting of the book constructs the life of Kenna Rowan, who comes back to the town after she has served five years in jail with a desire to meet her four-year-old daughter. But things turned out the opposite, cutting her wires and making her unable to bring things back to how they were.
It imported 5 million copies domestically and another 6.5 million copies internationally. Lauren Hoover, who co-wrote the screenplay for “Reminders of Him” with Lauren Levine, said she is excited to see the movie. I am happy as Reminders of Him also remains close to my fan base.
I am quite sure that Universal is the company that will provide this story with a proper representation. What better way to help debut Heart Bones Entertainment, the company I operate alongside producing partner Lauren Levine? We can only try to make something rather exceptional for everyone,” she further said.
Levine and Hoover will release under their Heart Bones Entertainment. Despite negative critiques, “It Ends with Us,” which has been out since August, had good numbers at the box office, but it was also criticized for portraying toxic behaviors as romantic.
It also sparked headlines for rumors of conflict between Lively and co-lead Justin Baldoni, who also directed the movie.
