Recently, she said a couple of things about the rumors that Connor will restart the super hit 1997 movie ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer.’ After giving an impressive portrayal of Helen Shivers, Gellar made it clear that she would not be part of the project.
The actress, however, said that she would not have an official position on set but would be unofficially employed. In the interview with People magazine, Gellar spoke about the fresh reboot by the new director, Jennifer Kaytin Robinson. She seized the opportunity to explain that because her character died in the first film, viewers could not find her on screen.
From her mouth, with the help of an interpreter, the answer to the question given was, “I am dead.” While Gellar will not be back like Helen, she said that she had a good relationship with the project thanks to the director. She claimed friendship with Robinson and subtitled herself a ‘continuity supremo’ in-jokes.
Gellar said: “So I’m constantly the one explaining to her, ‘Well, that would happen, or that wouldn’t happen with those characters,’ so I have an unofficial job title.” Besides that, when referring to the project more, Sarah said, “Jen’s assembled such a great cast, and I am happy and excited to meet everyone,” and then said, “That I will only be there in spirit, cheering on in front of the camera.”Gellar suggested as much when she was queried whether she plans on backing her husband and the series at the movie launch.
Speaking to entertainment news site Entertainment Weekly, she had this to say: `Yeah, my husband is in the movie, and my best friend wrote and directed it, so you better believe I’ll be going to that premiere.’ At the same time, viewers can watch the original ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ with Mary-Louise Parker and Bill Paxton in the lead roles, the continuation of which is ‘Scream,’ available on Prime Video for streaming with Jennifer Love Hewitt, Freddie Prinze Jr., Ryan Phillippe, Johnny Galecki, and Bridgette Wilson.
Based loosely on Lois Duncan’s 1973 book, the movie centers on four friends who are stalked by an enigmatic hook-wielding killer who has killed a young man.
