DC Studios and HBO just announced super-great news! Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler join the cast for Lanterns, that new superhero series focusing on the Green Lantern Corps. This series will be a part of the bold slate set by James Gunn and Peter Safran for the DC Universe, by venturing to cosmic realms with these two taking key superhero roles. Aaron Pierre is one of the rising stars.
While Aaron Pierre’s performances in Old and The Underground Railroad have been exemplary, it is his first bout with superhero dealings as he plays John Stewart – probably the most iconic Green Lanterns in DC Comics history. A former Marine who went on to become a Green Lantern after the legendary Hal Jordan, Stewart’s tough and disciplined persona through the years has been a fan favorite. Within this past year and a half, Pierre has dazzled fans with his powerful on-screen presence and emotional range that has already generated hype amongst audiences eagerly waiting for his portrayal of the character.
Pierre’s casting marks another important step in the career of this actor. This British actor is moving pretty fast in Hollywood, so everybody couldn’t fail to pay attention to his intensity and ability to command the screen. Lanterns are promising to deliver exciting energy through John Stewart, surely playing a central role in the series.
Kyle Chandler Joins the DC Universe
Another famous veteran actor is Kyle Chandler of Friday Night Lights and Godzilla: King of the Monsters, who will play Guy Gardner, another Green Lantern.
