Friends Co-Star Courtney Cox remembers Mathew Perry on his first death anniversary. Perry became famous after portraying the character Chandler Bing on a successful television show, and unfortunately, he passed on 28 October 2023 at the age of 53. He was later declared dead by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner from the accidental ‘acute effect of ketamine’.
She is now on her Instagram with a heart for Matthew as she missingly says about him: “Oh how I miss you today and everyday.” Cox included two photos: One is of her with Perry, hugging, possibly on the set of ‘Friends’ then there is another picture which is an old picture featuring Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer, and Courteney Cox along with her and Perry. His death was received with immense grief among his fans and fellow artists in the entertainment industry, the main reason being he was vocal about his struggles with addiction.
In his memoir ‘Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing,’ Perry writes about his journey of recovery from alcoholic and opioid addiction and rehab after going through many of them. Several other arrests were made in connection with Perry’s death owing to the supply of ketamine to her.
Among those arrested were a California doctor, Mark Chavez, and a known distributor of ketamine. In passing his tribute, Cox temporally shows how the deceased made a direct positive impact on the people who knew him and the audience who admired his shows.
In doing so, Cox brings messages from family, friends, and fans of Perry into a reminiscence of him, the pleasure he introduced to millions of people through *Friends* and the specific distress he turned into his fight with addiction and the way he alerted the public of the issue.
