Pandora beckons once again. James Cameron is taking audiences on another breathtaking journey to the world of Pandora with his upcoming sequel, ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash.’ Following the film’s successful release on December 19, 2025, Disney provided new concept art for the third part of Cameron’s most profitable movie series. The recently debuted social media illustrations have served as fans’ first glimpse into the movie’s side universe and introduced them to new Na’vi clans and breathtaking landscapes of Pandora, the tale’s extraterrestrial setting.

Among the pieces shared was a stunning illustration by Dylan Cole, which draws clear visual connections to the themes of the 2022 blockbuster, ‘Avatar: The Way of Water. ‘In this particular, we have Na’vi and Tulkun (gigantic sea creatures, similar to whales) surrounded by the glowing Bioluminescent dot in the sea, which has become the symbol of the serene nature of the aquatic world from the Pandora series. Another piece from Cole presents a serene yet captivating scene: two Na’vi by an animated sea at sunset with their hands pointing at some otherworldly hot air balloon with fleshy wings in the sky. The balloons, the otherworld touch, appear to glide through the sunny skies, bringing out a surrealistic feeling of the cliff-like horizon.

Further spice to the mix, artist Steve Messing provided concept art where these aforementioned hot air balloons are flying right through the cliffs of Pandora, their imposing structures being all enveloped by fluffy clouds. A new Na’vi tribe called the ‘Ash People’ is also presented in another example by Messing, where shots of a prisoner being led to the Ash People’s cliffside community are offered. It makes sense; the added plot twist in this trailer reveals an entirely different, mysterious side of Pandora, which would look promising in the movie. Of these, the one that makes fans happiest is a wholly new headdress for one of the Na’vi characters, designed by illustrator Zachary Berger. The Navi is seen riding on the back of a flying creature with sharp, feathered wings–reminiscent of the banshees featured in the first ‘Avatar’ film–soaring high above the ground.

This high-flying adventure promises to add thrilling new dynamics to the upcoming film.

In an interview with Deadline earlier this year, Cameron revealed that ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ will introduce two new cultures to the world of Pandora. “You’re going to meet two completely new cultures in the next film,” Cameron explained, adding, “We met the Omaticaya, the Metkayina, and you’re going to meet two new cultures in the next film. It proves a little more freely around the world of Pandora to different places.” Cameron also teased the symbolic importance of fire in the upcoming film. “Fire has a symbolic purpose in the film, and there’s a culture specifically around that concept,” he hinted, further stoking excitement among fans eager to see what awaits.
