Leading rock band Jane’s Addiction was involved in a fight during their concert in Boston on Friday night when vocalist Perry Farrell ‘body checked’ and then punched Dave Navarro.
In the videos posted by Farrell’s wife, Petty Farrell, the rocker can be seen furiously singing into the mic and violently pushing his body into Navarro during a performance at music venue Leader Bank Pavilion on Saturday.
The lead singer suddenly began to yell at the guitarist, who stepped away from his bandmate and attempted to restrain him by putting his arm around the lead singer’s chest. Perry, 65, becomes more furious and charges towards Navarro, 57. He tries to hit him but instead hits the guitar. One crew member rushed from backstage to restrain Perry further, which appeared to anger him even more. Two other men apprehended him as he seemed to attempt to resist them.
Navarro, however, laid down his guitar on the stage, conversed with what one might think was security personnel and left. Jane’s Addiction has not responded to Page Six’s request for comment on this story.
However, via Instagram, Etty said there had been tension and hatred between the band and the other party before the fight. “This was when Perry came down with tinnitus and a sore throat at night. But when the audience in the first row began to complain to Perry, shouting at him that the band was too loud and that he could not be heard, Perry snapped. ” “At this point, the stage volume was so high that Perry could only hear the boom and vibration of the instruments, and by the time the song was over with, Perry was not singing; he was screaming to be heard,” Petty added.
She also said that a fight also happened backstage where Avery, the bassist of the band, choked Perry and then punched him in the stomach thrice.
Petty said her husband became “a crazed beast” in the 30 minutes following the fight and then broke down “cried and cried.” Fans were concerned in Petty’s comment section, with one begging her to get Perry help and stop “enabling” him.
