Caitlin Clark enters her first season with the WNBA as quite probably the most hyped young talent in women’s basketball. With out-of-this-world shooting range, playmaking, and leading on the court, Clark took over the face of the Fever in quick fashion. Her capabilities include taking games over by scoring and making plays, adding vitality to a franchise that has searched for consistency over recent seasons.

So it was an uphill climb to get the Fever to the playoffs. For years, they’d been rebuilding and missed the postseason. Finally, this was a team that seemingly had it all together: Clark’s ability to score along with an efficient supporting cast, has made Indiana one of the more respected clubs in the league.

This is not to be scoffed at. For a franchise that has had to endure enough ups and downs over the years, reaching the playoffs justifies all hard work and perseverance by players and coaching staff alike. It also goes to show how one player can make all the difference in the fortunes of a team.

Well, as they now stand on the cusp of the franchise’s first postseason appearance in seven years, Fever fans appear conspicuously excited. It seems Caitlin Clark has breathed some air into the franchise and created new optimism about its future. The road ahead will surely go uphill, but at least the Fever have made their case that they are able to compete at the highest level-with Clark leading, anything could happen.

The only thing that results in a playoff berth for Indiana Fever but also triumphs on its own for the whole league of WNBA, which comes out to show just how big this talent base is getting and just how many more great new storylines can still be told within it in the years to come.
