“Caroline is returning to theaters for a Halloween rerelease in 3D and 2D.”

Good news for Caroline fans who missed the film’s summer return: Laika Studios has stated that the cult stop-motion movie will be in theaters starting on Halloween, say, Deadline. After both versions made over USD 53 million globally in August, Laika Filming partners with Fathom Events in the United States and Trafalgar Releasing internationally.

The 2009 dark fantasy film will now be released in newly converted 3D and 2D Blu-ray versions. Also, during the movie Coraline, the audience will get to preview the following future animated picture from Laika, entitled Wildwood.

The re-release will start on October 31 in the UK, Ireland, Australia, Canada, Austria, Ecuador, and other countries. France and Italy will also receive a special anniversary screening in November.  ‘Everyone at LAIKA is thrilled at the success of the Coraline re-release, especially during the October holidays, and no more chance to see the animated movie again this year,’ stated David Burke, Chief Marketing and Operations officer of LAIKA ‘Apart from achieving record-breaking success in the US, Coraline has also received immense success in the UK and Mexico through our partnership with Trafalgar Releasing through Fathom Distribution.

Laika also noted that the August re-release has been the most profitable in the US during the past ten years. It also has had the largest lifetime gross in the U.S. for any stop-motion animated production, beating hits like The Nightmare Before Christmas and Chicken Run. Tickets for the Halloween re-release are now available in the United States.
