During the 71st San Sebastian International Film Festival, George Clooney made a surprise presentation to fellow Hollywood star Ms. Cate Blanchett, that was rather touching. Award-winning actress who is noted for her range and strength, including the so-called ‘fierceness’ that every actor exhibits, Clooney sent her a video message which she opened during the festival promoting her latest film.
Clooney has worked with Blanchett in movies such as The Good German or The Monuments Men, and he warmly endorsed her considerable work and abilities to the film industry. In his message, Clooney wrote, “Cate, you have always been and undoubtedly always will be a class act, whether in front of a camera or otherwise. Behind your charms, there is a rare combination of complexity, grace, and strength that you bring to every character, and I am grateful to have worked with you throughout the years. The way that you perform your work is provoking and impressive to all of us and the industry is better having you in it.”
The one that pays tribute to the future of cinema, the San Sebastián Festival, was arguably the best backdrop for the emotional farewell. Blanchett was Ireland to Clooney and acknowledged his tribute to her, “George is by far the most generous person I have been fortunate to work with, he is remarkable. I appreciate his words dearly, especially on such occasions as this festival, which is all about incredible talents.”
Blanchett is an award-winning actress and to her credit, she has been bestowed with an academy award twice. She explains how that Youngest sister is also not an exception. Clooney sometimes out of the blue also adds this extremely personal kind of undertone during this very formal occasion. The moment drove home the sense of respect and warm regard which is present in the fraternity of Hollywood actors, making it clear once again that Blanchett is what she is —one of the best actresses of her times.
While doing that Blanchett still maintains the interest of the audience, and George Clooney, as well as fellows, praise her effectively proving everyone the essence of cinema.
