Demi Moore got an opportunity to speak about the health of her former husband, Bruce Wills, who was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) at the 2024 Hamptons International Film Festival. “We can announce the Career Achievement in Acting Award in the festival’, ” Moore said. However, she did not leave the chance to comment on the situation of her former husband in a public speech to the audience in the play.
A few days ago, she adds, she said goodbye to Bruce Willis, who, in Moore’s words, is currently stable but has dementia. His wife, Emma Heming Willis, revealed he had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia last year. In 2022, he was suffering from aphasia that impacted his ability to communicate.
More to the point, in this interview with Alina Cho for the HIFF Advisory Board, Moore was straightforward enough to express her opinion over the incident. It also means that the disease cannot be altered; people who love Bruce should continue to embrace him in his current state. She quickly pointed out the need to get acquainted with him at the level he is currently at, not the man he was before.
Moore told the audience something with beauty and sweetness about connecting with a person in that place. She also says that people should attend Bruce and enjoy the experiences they can share with Bruce now. She also recalled a trip last month to watch Bruce Willis with her granddaughter Louetta, the daughter of Rumer Willis.
To set things straight, Demi Moore and Bruce Willis have three children: Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30. Other than that, to keep everyone updated on Willis’ health or lack thereof, Moore has been focused on her acting career. She is also seen in the science fiction thriller ‘The Substance,’ which Coralie Fargeat directed.
In the abovementioned film, Moore acts as Elisabeth Sparkle, who attempts to deliver a young iteration of herself using a black-market drug. The movie deals with several issues related to the profile and what women are supposed to look like when they grow old; this makes it an excellent commentary on these issues. Moreover, Moore made the point that one should accept the hard times while rejoicing in the time with loved ones. Indeed, her message shed light not only on the story of Willi’s health but also on the strength needed on the part of those who care for those with dementia.
