Hollywood, CA – For film lovers, the year 2024 looks very promising especially for those whose interest leans toward violence and sanity challenged stories that are presented in R rated films. One has three key titles that would be major releases: Joker: Folie a Deux, Gladiator 2 and Kraven the Hunter. These also appear to be destined for box office success, starting with Joker: Folie à Deux, the much awaited follow up to the critically and commercially successful Joker of 2019.
Taking the top spot is Joker: Folie à Deux Joaquin Phoenix and Tom Phillips’ sequel to the Oscar winning 2019 blockbuster Searchlight Pictures, with Lady Gaga, exploring more crazy love of Arthur Fleck. It will be noted that this time Arthur Fleck played by Joaquin Phoenix will be more tumultuous than the first one; therefore, the wait is killing. However, more intriguing is how the film will unravel their attraction towards one another. Phillips himself has described the picture involving one of the superheroes in the Circle as even more twisted than the first one.
The next film in the Gladiator franchise is Gladiator 2, Directed by Joseph Kosinski, Brice McGuire, and Michael Deblina. Most fans have Joseph Kosinski but almost all are most certainly anxious for it especially since it wraps up Ridley Scott’s 2000 epic tale with the gladiatorial combat of ancient Rome. However, the road to this release wouldn’t be quite plain since few details have emerged from the shadows.
At long last, Kraven the Hunter, the newest installment to the stable which is owned by Sony Pictures, is anticipated to be very aggressive with respect to the superhero genre. This R-rated film casts Aaron Taylor-Johnson as its titular anti-hero, and it just happens to be a darker and bloodier version of the Marvel character. Kraven the Hunter directed by J.C. Chandor will probably focus on the more basic and survivalist tendencies of this character which makes it one of the most interesting superhero movies for the year.
