Kate Winslet is not afraid to spill a few secrets about the bedroom.
The 48-year-old ‘Titanic’ star comes clean on how she started undergoing testosterone replacement therapy to improve her libido.
“Sometimes, women have a dire drop in libido because there might be something with their thyroid,” she said on the ‘How to Fail’ podcast on Friday while giving out advice to one of her fans who wanted to spice up their sex life”. “Many people do not realize this, but women also have testosterone in their body; when it is finished, like the eggs, it is gone, and you have to take it and that too can be done and is sexually fulfilling, “ said Winslet, who got married to Edward Abel Smith in 2012.
The actress also wanted to calm the caller and told the latter that ‘it is not my fault’ for women’s body to change. She also told the audience member it was possibly hormones, especially estrogen, which may be low, and she should ‘definitely’ get her hormone level tested.
However, despite the fact that the female body undergoes transformations with age, Winslet said there are many perks to it. “I think that women get juicier and sexier and more in touch with who they are as they age and more powerful and more able to just stroll through life, and that’s a powerful thing,” she said, “I tell my friends all the time, ‘You look fabulous, you look great.”
“Our faces become more of who we are; they sit better on our bone structure, and they have more life and history,” she said in the magazine.
