58-year-old supermodel and actress Paulina Porizkova has recently revealed to her fans that she underwent a very “long overdue” hip replacement surgery. The really great and rather aging Paulina Porizkova, who is known for her great modeling work, went to submit details about the surgery on social media and her feelings about it thereafter.
The former Sports Illustrated covergirl is not only extremely glamorous but possesses a strong opinion on her age, Erica Wright has revealed. In one of the not-so-selfie or matter selfie posts on Instagram, she shared a picture of herself lying in a hospital bed with a peace sign, smiling, and preparing for surgery with the device. She mentioned that the goal of the operation was for the hip that keeps causing her pain, increasing with time, for the past several years, to be replaced.
“This has been a long time coming,” Porizkova wrote. “I have put up with the torment for a very long period of time trying to ignore the injury. It is about time I took action now and look after myself, but not until this time. This operation is an important move to getting back the quality of life that I deserve as a person.
Body negative advocate Porizkova was quick at this opportunity to criticize societal norms reinforcing the need for beauty more in older women. Even in this instance, she asked her followers to make living the healthful habits not just a paradox but a way of life, no matter the fact that people have to look young, or invincible.
The supermodel posted a pic which brought in a lot of supportive messages from her followers and celebrity friends, and they applauded her for being so open and brave. She has been credited by many with helping to eliminate the stigma associated with the aging process and even going as far as admitting there is nothing wrong in asking for a physician so as to look good.
Even though Paulina is still undergoing treatment, she continues to look forward optimistically and wishes she would get back on her feet as soon as possible and resume her normal life. “This is the start of something else,” she says. “I cannot wait for the day when I can walk without pain and do the things that I love.”
That Porizkova chose to purposefully discuss her surgical procedure helps define her as one of the very few elements of the anti-ageist movement in the world of fashion and show business.
