Prince’s Music Companies “Working to Resolve Matters” Over Unreleased Doc Accusing Musician of Abuse

Music and estate entities of the late pop icon Prince, confirmed that “efforts to resolve matters” around an unapproved documentary that cast allegations of abuse on the icon are still ongoing. The concern no one want to touch because it has had such likable controversial coverage, remains unreleased till today, inciting anger among Prince fans and wider debate.

Allegedly more than four years in development, the documentary apparently contains the stories of persons who were around while Prince was at the peak of his career. These allegations, which remain without any supporting evidence, are said to relate to both sexual as well as professional harassment. There has not yet been a notable premiere or any firm public release for the film, and all indicative reports and critiques have generated reactions in the aura of music fans and the delicate discourse of the legacy of an artist and the controversies of his life.

Speaking to the situation, a spokesman of Prince’s music companies, said, “it is a documentary that has come to our attention as well as the allegations contained in it which are very tender. I can tell you that we are making efforts to clear things up without compromising the image of the artist along with the issues brought forth.”

Prince died in 2016 which was a great loss to the music world with the likes of ‘Purple Rain’ and ‘When Doves Cry’ being some of the hits attributed to him. In the aftermath of his death, it is documented that he left behind not only a rich field of works worth careful analysis but a number of records and numerous projects that have never been published or cared for in recent years by active management. While this is the situation at present, the looming drama could put cold water on attempts to safeguard the legacy in the future.

Given the events that have taken place, it is not clear if the film will ever be shown with details on how Prince’s estate intends to tackle the accusations included in it. At this point, fans and the music world must bide their time and watch how such sensitive issues are handled by Prince’s music companies.
