Actress Riley Keough, Elvis Presley’s daughter, also trod the large route and stated how her surname gave her a break in Hollywood into the movie zone. During the recent interview she had with ‘Elle UK magazine, Riley revealed that she fully understands the ‘No-Baby’ debate; she pointed out how growing up in a famous family helped her get agents as well as meetings early in her career for movies such as ‘Daisy Jones & The Six’ and ‘The Girlfriend Experience’.
“I am not naive,” Riley agreed, saying, ‘Everything has always been prepared for me, owing to my family’s fame. I also realize that being born as the granddaughter of Elvis Presley also played a part in my getting the chance. Now, there is much said about ‘no-babies’, and, yes, I got it loud and clear where I was born – in one of the richest countries in terms of wealth per capita.” She also offered advice her mother, Lisa Marie Presley, gave her when dealing with fame.
Lisa Marie is Elvis’s only daughter; she complained to Riley and her brother that they must work and gain more to be involved in the entertainment industry. ”She would say to me, ‘If you are into this business, then you had better be good at it because nobody is going to blink an eye at you’, ” Riley said. Her mum also advised her against being like some celebrity kids who do not work yet are famous because of their parents.
Recently, Riley completed her mother’s memoir, *From Here to The Great Unknown*, which details her mother’s struggles: She fought her addiction, brief marriage to Michael Jackson, and the untimely death of her son, Benjamin Keough, in 2020. Riley said the book was something she had to do. She referred to it as a ‘’responsibility.’’ She also said that she asked her mother how it had been to grow up as Elvis’s daughter, to which Lisa Marie replied that she had never been able to make friends as she often lost any friends she had by the time she discovered they only wanted to be friends with her because of her father. “That was heartbreaking that such a person who wanted love and friendship had to face so many problems in the hunt,” said Riley.
Lisa Marie lost her life in 2023 at 54 years of age and died of natural causes. Riley is the eldest of the four children; she saw the only struggle as the daughter of such a powerful ‘name’ that her mother went through. But she will not negate a sense of thankfulness for being endowed with such a heritage; she once again emphasizes that she does it her way.
