Actor Sebastian Stan has said that a lot of work was done in portraying a young Donald Trump in the movie ‘The Apprentice.’ The film looks at Trump’s career in New York City, specifically in the real estate business, and is already feted as one of the most anticipated non biopics of 2024.
During his youth, the President said how engaging it was to become Trump. “When there is something like playing the real people, the technical things are necessary—you need to be sunk in them all the time,” Stan said. I listened to and watched him constantly, whether in the car, walking, shopping, or even around family and friends. I had footage playing over and over and over and over.
There is no scenario whereby I can become a person… until it is an intrusion into every living second. Ali Abbasi directs The Apprentice in his English language debut with a notable cast: Jeremy Strong as Trump’s lawyer and mentor Roy Cohn and Maria Bakalova as Ivana Trump.
The film is based on the early business and personal life of Trump in the 70s and 80s when he began his journey to power. Jeremy, an actor from the ‘Succession,’ portrays a somewhat ambiguous figure of Roy Cohn – the lawyer whose reputation has been the object of discussions.
Paying much attention to Cohn and his role in shaping Trump characterizes him as vicious, ruthless, and cruel. He continued, “He liked to claim that Donald was his ‘best friend.’ He was a man who had learned to hate himself and live in shame, embedding himself into the cult of status and authority. With all his imperfections, Roy wanted affection, and I think he discovered, but then severed with, the Donald Trump affair.
The film, slated for its release in India on October 18, explores the gritty underworld of New York’s business scene, portraying how Trump’s rise was fueled by his complex and often dangerous alliance with Roy Cohn.
