Taylor Swift is supporting Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming presidential election. The Singer posted this on Tuesday night after the VP and former President Donald Trump’s face-off.
After the debate, she posted on Instagram a picture with her cat; in the caption, she wrote, “I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.”
“I want @kamalaharris as my president because she stands for the rights and the causes I believe require a warrior. I believe she is a steady-handed, gifted leader, and we can do better for this country than be led by chaos. I was so encouraged and impressed by her selection of a running mate @timwalz who has been fighting for LGBTQ+ rights IVF, a woman’s right to her own body for decades,” she wrote.
The endorsement from Taylor Swift was posted a few minutes immediately after the debate had come to an end. She also encouraged the fans to register as voters. Swift, who began activism in 2012, has publicly supported candidates during her singing career three times: in the 2020 presidential elections for Biden.
It turned out that many people are waiting for the pop sensation’s endorsement of Harris for the 2024 presidential elections. The singer has more than 283 million followers on Instagram, and she has been calling her followers to register and vote. During the registration drive one day in the fall of 2023, she registered over 30000 voters.
It was believed that Swift was going to perform during the Democratic National Convention, where stars like Oprah, The Chicks, Pink, Mindy Kaling, and John Legend supported Kamala Harris. The electoral body, as has been noticed in the previous elections with swift help, will again enable people to register for voting.
Her IG story had a swipe-up that directed people to vote.
