It’s safe to say that there’s still a long way to go before the last statuette is handed out for the Academy Awards. Nonetheless, the buzz around “Conclave” and Fiennes’ performance is hard to ignore. At the moment Fiennes is perceived as an imminent colossus in the Best Actor category and there is a good chance that the film will also scoop Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Picture nominations.

On top of Fiennes, ‘Conclave’ has a string of supporting roles played by the likes of Jonathan Pryce, Ian McKellen, and Jeremy Irons which further enhances the awards prospects of the film. As the management of the company indicated, the movie is now intending for a crown ministry to be seen later than November 2024 only. This would only mean that the controversy around ‘Conclave’ is likely to build and reach a climax when Fiennes can no longer put off his victory with the Oscar.
