John M. Chu’s musical ‘Wicked Part 1’ stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo have shared a behind-the-scenes look at their singing skills. The 11-second video clip shows the two singing the famous song ‘Defying Gravity’, which we have not seen such amazing voices from two leading men before. The clip they posted on Instagram, the desktop makers, was viewed by millions of people.
Along with the clip, there was also a featurette that demonstrated fun story moments from the movie. Speaking on the issue of live recording instead of dubbing, Grande, Erivo, and Bailey were on the same page. Such unusual actors are nice, which director Jon M. Chu appreciated in his cast, noting the enormous potential of the stars. ‘These are the best singers in the world; therefore, in every scene, they could only be singing live,’ he said.
It also didn’t beat around the bush and briefly revealed moments featuring Grande warming her voice up and Erivo rehearsing with a flying harness for particular scenes. With all the buzz surrounding the Broadway musical Wicked, lots of people will be looking forward to the movie adaptation of Wicked, which is now scheduled to be shown on the 22nd of November.
